Ready to Go!

Every day is a new day, right?; but every new day I have to face the same question somehow: "What shall I wear today?" and realize it's just the beginning of a series. I know I should get everything ready the night before, but I get very tired and lazy in the evening that I really can't be bothered to do so. That's how it goes! I start my mornings carefully choosing the outfit of the day and the matching makeup and hair look. After taking a regenerating shower and treating my dry and sensitive skin with appropriate creams and body lotion, I blow dry my hair and wear a flawless makeup and then get dressed for a busy day at work.

I hate wasting about an hour and 45 mins in doing so, but I just can't help it. I like to think of every single detail of what I would like to wear, starting from the lingerie. My everyday look would be simple and comfortable but sophisticated, as I spend the whole day at work and therefore I have to stick to a "dress code". Well, a dress code does not really restrict your choices of attires as many would think; instead it gives you a certain notion of what a formal look can be. It's all about the etiquette! Then I am more likely to keep my hair simply straight or style a ponytail...et voilà! Ready-to-go! Did I miss anything? Mmm...the perfume maybe? Well, that’s never been a problem..I always keep a 33ml perfume bottle in my bag and a second one in my car, just in case!

I bought this beautiful hair-clip from a shop in a big mall in Beijing. I don’t know much about the brand She’s, but I really love the design and the uniqueness of its accessories.
I sometimes change my hairstyle: as you can see here I have Kim Kardashian inspired sleek high ponytail. :)
If I am going out for dinner, I just give a glamorous touch to my makeup focusing on the lips. Here I used Rouge Allure Velvet 37 l’Exubérante by Chanel and YSL lip liner 3, the perfect match.

My Total Balck Outfit:

Sweater Michael Kors
Black strass belt Pinko
Trousers Missoni

A Lone Stranger In Beijing

I left the Nanjing Grand Hotel at 6.30am and went to Nanjing South railway station to take the train to the capital. I was told It was different from Nanjing and people there were more social and kind with tourists; yet, I didn’t know what to expect from Beijing. Also, I was so anxious and excited, because this time I was "a lone stranger" who does not speak or understand Chinese and do not have any friends in Beijing. I suppose, you'll need to have everything already planned to manage this kind of situation. But, if you knew me enough you would know that I like to take risks and leave everything until the last minute. Yep! I only had the Marriott City Wall Hotel address and phone number written in my notebook.

After a long trip of four hours and fifteen minutes (I recommend to take the G or any other high speed train for long distance travels!), I arrived to Beijing and immediately noticed the very clear blue sky, the bright sun and dry air. I was really surprised and couldn’t ask for more after what I experienced in Nanjing. The good weather gave me the right good energy to start my adventure.

At the Marriott Hotel (which is right in town), I asked for a tourist map of the city so I could pick a random place I wanted to see and just go for it. So, here are some of the places I visited:

1. Temple of Heaven

At any tourist attraction you can get the audio-guide like I did here.

2. The Summer Palace is the most charming place to visit in Beijing. Here I met Joey, a young Chinese who works as a freelance tourist guide in most of the cultural and historical sites in the city. This guy is so sweet and courageous. He did not study English at school, yet he speaks it fluently and that’s because he loves what he does. If you want to get in touch with him:

This is the Marble Boat in the Kunming Lake.

3. The Great Wall of China is just amazing and you really can’t miss it! It was bloody freezing when I went there, but you being there and that view around is so exciting that you would forget about the cold.
