Autumn Special Getaway

Hello September! I used to dislike this month, because it was synonymous of "End of Summer", "End of Holidays", "Back to School", "Back to the Routine", "Back to the cold days"...but it ain't like that no more, not for me! As we grow up, we change and everything changes around us, sometimes for the good and sometimes for the bad...but at the end of the day, we appreciate the toughness and the sweetness of life!

I remember when back in the days my family and I used to spend our Summer time in a beautiful tiny fishing village in Tunisia for the long period of July and August. Those are  memories I cherish and wish my future children could experience.

I also remember when at my first internship, my tutor was so excited about her dream vacation in Egypt and would articulate random words related to her holidays in different notes and sounds: only "September" would sound unusual to me! "She's going on holiday in September?" I just couldn't figure that out. But now I know that sounds about right..and cool!

I am just lucky to be part of those who go on holidays in late Summer or in Autumn, when everyone else is back to work or school. What makes it special? Booking is easier and at 100% you won't be disturbed by children crying or running and jumping everywhere (coz all we need is relax)!

And for what concerns the "what to wear", just keep it simple: all you need is your swimwear(s), a pair of sunglasses and a kaftan!

La Cigale: The New Luxury Resort In Tabarka

If you're following me on Instagram, you'd know that I was in Tabarka last weekend and stayed at the renovated hotel La Cigale, also known as the former Tabarka Beach. Although the renovation has not finished yet, the hotel at its present stage bodes a very luxurious resort (in terms of full-service hotel) to be.

In this article, I want to share with you the changes that have been brought to this place and my experience, which over all has been positive. So, as I already mentioned, the renovation is still in progress and I was told everything will be ready for the beginning of the next season (summer 2015). No wonder there is so much beauty and quality in the work done, the Lebanese-Qataris owners invested in foreign companies and international suppliers to give the hotel that fabulous new look. They have a very nice lobby and the new reception is made of a unique piece of wood that was brought all the way from Italy to the beautiful Tabarka, as well as the furniture of the prototype hotel room. The new hotel is conceived and designed to suite its guests needs: luxury and comfort!

On the other hand, the services do not match up with the 5 stars unfortunatly. The hotel staff needs to be provided with an excellent coaching and serious training programmes. I don't know about the restaurant "Le Corail", but the Buffet wasn't satisfactory. Breakfast was decent  though.

What didn't seem to convince me at first, but blew my mind after was the Tunisian/ Berber designed Tea Shop (or Shisha Lounge, if you prefer) which is located at the -1 floor and has a view on the pools and the sea in front. Ah-mazing! Once inside the Tea shop, you feel somewhere else outside the hotel when you actually never left it.

A Fusion of Equestrian and Fashion

What's more irritating and annoying than the deafening sound of "Hurry up! We're late!" and it's not over...I had to get ready in 10 minutes and to my legitimate one and only question "To where?", my head was overthinking about what to wear that I couldn't catch the answer (for God's sake!) nor focus on what I was doing. I grabbed the only two garments that my eyes could see: My Shanghai Tang polo-shirt which I got at the airport of Shanghai, literally two minutes before the gate closed and these beautiful Crop fit trousers designed by Pamela Henson for professional show jumping. For the record, I don't do horse riding, but I'd love to!

Shoes on, I took my Miu Miu bag and my Céline shades that were on the table next to the door and left home. In the back of my head, another question mark seemed to have replaced the "where to?" and this is not a senseless one. I subconsciously mixed two pieces from two equestrian activities: show jumping and polo. So, how did I came out with this style? I damn love the whole look! I must have confused whatever my sister's answer to my Q was with my desirable wish to participate to a horse beauty contest. Well, if that was the case "Has anyone seen my Gucci boots?". (It is strictly forbidden to laugh!) :P

Go-To-Town Outfit

How well do you know the city you're living in?
When asking myself this question, I genuinely used to think that I could be a tourist guide for my international guests. How many of you did think the same at least once? Your mind starts listing all the places you've been to and all of the things you've done....and finally, you're like at 99% convinced that you got everything under control! Yes, that until the reality hits you in the face and you realize how stupid is to undervalue the work of a tourist guide. But still there's an exciting side to strolling around a city with people who know less than you, but are eager to see and learn about everything: this shall be called "the art of exploitation"!

One of the fun places to explore in Sousse or just any other big city in Tunisia is the "Medina" aka "the old city": it's walled all around and has four entrances. Roaming in its narrow and maze-like streets is just amazing, because that's where you get to experience or witness different scenarios, shop around the crazy and colourful world of bazaar, and see historical fountains, mosques and the Ribat.

There are a very few shops that I like and one of these is a beauty shop which sells all organic skincare and haircare products produced in Tunisia...they're fabulous! I will probably do a review on these products. Until then, enjoy the piccies and hope you like my "Go-To-Town" outfit!
