La Cigale: The New Luxury Resort In Tabarka

If you're following me on Instagram, you'd know that I was in Tabarka last weekend and stayed at the renovated hotel La Cigale, also known as the former Tabarka Beach. Although the renovation has not finished yet, the hotel at its present stage bodes a very luxurious resort (in terms of full-service hotel) to be.

In this article, I want to share with you the changes that have been brought to this place and my experience, which over all has been positive. So, as I already mentioned, the renovation is still in progress and I was told everything will be ready for the beginning of the next season (summer 2015). No wonder there is so much beauty and quality in the work done, the Lebanese-Qataris owners invested in foreign companies and international suppliers to give the hotel that fabulous new look. They have a very nice lobby and the new reception is made of a unique piece of wood that was brought all the way from Italy to the beautiful Tabarka, as well as the furniture of the prototype hotel room. The new hotel is conceived and designed to suite its guests needs: luxury and comfort!

On the other hand, the services do not match up with the 5 stars unfortunatly. The hotel staff needs to be provided with an excellent coaching and serious training programmes. I don't know about the restaurant "Le Corail", but the Buffet wasn't satisfactory. Breakfast was decent  though.

What didn't seem to convince me at first, but blew my mind after was the Tunisian/ Berber designed Tea Shop (or Shisha Lounge, if you prefer) which is located at the -1 floor and has a view on the pools and the sea in front. Ah-mazing! Once inside the Tea shop, you feel somewhere else outside the hotel when you actually never left it.
